I began using the Bose Connect app in 2016 with the Bose SoundLink II wireless headphones. The app back then did what it was intended to do but there were no additional features that made having Bose Connect installed on my phone worthwhile, i.e. A standard Bluetooth connection was good enough. The newer app, used in conjunction with the Bose QC35 II, is an excellent feature-rich addition to the quality Bose device experience. The NFC pairing with compatible devices makes connecting effortless. A huge feature in my opinion is the capability to receive notification of device firmware updates, then install over the air without setting up a physical connection.
There are a number of additional convenience features such as device specific adjustments, device naming and music sharing that boost the usefulness of the Bose Connect app. I have had a few slow experiences with using the Music feature of the app while connected to Apple Music. I am not sure if the value of this feature anyway, using the native Apple Music app seems to be more intuitive. Lastly, add the ability to register devices from within the app itself. This could be useful since the Bluetooth connection identifies devices and Serial Numbers once paired. The ear buds are not terrible quality in terms of craftsmanship, however, they have a very unreliable blue tooth connection (I have an I phone 6). I tried countless times to connect the earbuds to my device, but only have ben met with aggravating failures.
I have tried everything from turning the product and my device off and on, to deleting and reinstalling the app. On top of that, the earbuds are awkward and bulky. They stick very far out of your ear, and are an eye and ear sore. The product comes with 3 differently sized ear pieces, a small or a medium and a large. First I tried the large, it didn’t even fit in my ear.
Second I tried the small, and it fell out of my ear with a very small amount of movement, Probably due to the bulky design. And lastly I tried the medium and it was just. The medium size stuck in my ear, and didn’t fall out unless met with a fairly high amount of movement, which was all well and good. But, after extended use of roughly 10 minutes, the earbuds start to irritate/hurt my ears. Probably due to the in enormous size of the earbuds.
But wait, there’s more! I got this grate deal for the low low price of over $100. When I could have gotten a much more comfortable, much more reliable, much less bulky, much less of an eye sore set of ear buds for 1/10 the price.
So for this past holiday season hopefully you didn’t get your loved ones this product. Just purchased these Bose sound sport in-ear Bluetooth headphones about a month ago. So far I am very pleased with them. Great sound quality, deep rich Low’s, superb clarity throughout all ranges. I was a bit concerned with the ear fitment and the ear pieces but so far they have been comfortable. Have used them for during both cardio, weight lifting and in daily general use.
Phone calls are clear. My only complaint thus far is the volume level when connected to phone vs computer. I know that this is probably due to the output signal from phone, but it would be nice to be able to boost the volume just a bit when connected to phone via the app. When connected to computer intend to use them at around 50% volume and it’s great, I have to run them at 90% or even 100% when using them connected to phone to get same volume levels. Other than that they are an amazing product.
I also purchased the charging hard case that gives you an extra 2 to 3 charges on the go without having to connect to power. And you can plug headphones inside the case and charge the case and headphones at the same time! I can just plug them in the hard case, throw it in my gym bag or backpack and within a half hour or so they are ready to go again!
